Summary: My research largely focuses on the central questions of how populations of long-lived trees respond evolutionarily to environmental variation and what are the implications for conservation under global change. I integrate approaches from population genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, statistical phylogeography, paleoecology, and climate niche modeling in non-model tree species of ecological and economic importance. My current and future research plans emphasize large-scale genomic approaches to understand the molecular basis of local adaptation, the factors influencing divergence among populations and closely related species, the role of hybridization in adaptation and speciation, and the evolutionary response to changing environments.
